Artist-owned Island Life is filled with local art, gifts, and souvenirs celebrating our beautiful island—most of it created by Bainbridge Island artists and makers.

From beautifully designed stickers, magnets, mugs, and ornaments, to handmade jewelry, original art, apparel, and so much more, Island Life has something for both the visiting traveller and local Bainbridge Islanders who simply love where they live.
Meet shop owner and resident artist, Alex Sanso
When Alex moved to Bainbridge Island in 2007, she came with a long career in art and design, most notably as a Disney artist, creating merchandise for their theme parks all over the world. In 2013, inspired by the beauty of the island, she created her own line of Bainbridge-themed art prints and merchandise. As an independent artist with no brick and mortar presence, she sold them through pop-up events direct to the public and wholesale to other shops on Bainbridge for years. In August 2021 she seized an opportunity to open her own shop. As resident artist and curator of Island Life, she’s there most days—greeting customers, creating new art, and sharing the stories and talents of the many other artists whose work is available in the shop.
